Fixed Mobile Convergence
The convergence of services and applications, i.e. their network-independent use, is probably the most interesting and closely observed convergence taking place right now. Whether triple (language, data, video) or quadruple play (language, data, video, mobile), music downloads on mobile phones, or data downloads through TV cables – the different areas are moving closer and closer together.
In terms of Fixed Mobile Convergence SYRACOM helps make the transition from network access technologies to service access technologies. This is an important step towards convergence as planned by the Next Generation Network (NGN). The network-independent use of services and applications allows for flexible infrastructure and larger portfolio.
The concept used to achieve this is called IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and combines fixed networks, cable networks, mobile broadcast networks, WLANs and WiMAX into a flexible infrastructure through which new applications are introduced. Examples are IPTV, VoIP, video conferencing, multi-player video games etc.
Take advantage of SYRACOM’s technical expertise and professional project management that has been acquired over a large number of projects.
